At TheIrishBox, we're committed to delivering your curated Irish treasures safely and efficiently. This policy outlines our shipping procedures, costs, and what you can expect when receiving your subscription box.

1Shipping Schedule

Monthly Dispatch Date

All subscription boxes ship within 1-3 business days of subscribing or each billing cycle.

  • If the 5th falls on a weekend or bank holiday, boxes ship on the next business day
  • New subscriptions ordered after the 1st of the month will ship with the following month's box
  • Orders placed before the 1st will be included in that month's shipment
  • You'll receive an email notification with tracking information once your box ships

Please note that delivery times are estimates and may vary due to carrier delays, weather conditions, or high-volume periods (e.g., Christmas season). We'll keep you informed of any expected delays.

Shipping costs are charged per box per month. If you have multiple subscriptions, shipping may be combined when possible.

4Shipping Carriers

We partner with trusted Irish and international carriers to ensure your box arrives safely:

  • An Post - Primary carrier for Republic of Ireland deliveries
  • DPD Ireland - Used for Dublin deliveries and special handling
  • Royal Mail / DPD - UK and Northern Ireland deliveries
  • DHL / FedEx - International shipments

The carrier used may vary based on your location and box contents.

5Tracking Your Order

Once your box ships, you'll receive:

  • An email notification with your tracking number
  • A link to track your package on the carrier's website
  • Estimated delivery date

You can also view your tracking information anytime in your account dashboard.

6Delivery Address Requirements

To ensure successful delivery, please provide:

  • Full name (as it appears on your doorbell/mailbox if applicable)
  • Complete street address including apartment/unit number
  • Eircode (strongly recommended for Irish addresses)
  • Valid phone number for delivery notifications
  • Email address for tracking updates

⚠️ Important

Please ensure your address is complete and accurate. We cannot be responsible for delays or failed deliveries due to incorrect or incomplete address information. You can update your shipping address in your account settings before the 1st of each month.

7Delivery Options

Our standard delivery service includes:

  • Signature not required: Packages may be left in a safe place at the carrier's discretion
  • Safe place delivery: If you're not home, the carrier may leave your package in a designated safe location
  • Neighbour delivery: With your permission, packages may be left with a neighbour
  • Collection point: If delivery is unsuccessful, your package will be held at a local collection point

You can add delivery instructions (e.g., "Leave in back porch" or "Do not leave unattended") in your account settings.

8Lost or Damaged Packages

Lost Packages

If your package hasn't arrived within the expected delivery timeframe:

  1. Check your tracking information for the latest status
  2. Verify the delivery address in your account is correct
  3. Check with neighbours or building management
  4. Wait an additional 2-3 business days as packages sometimes show as delivered before arrival
  5. If still not received, contact us within 14 days of the shipping date

Damaged Packages

If your package arrives damaged:

  1. Take photos of the damaged packaging and contents
  2. Do not dispose of the damaged items or packaging
  3. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos
  4. We'll arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate

Our Guarantee

We take responsibility for getting your box to you safely. If your package is lost or damaged in transit through no fault of your own, we'll send a replacement or issue a full refund – your choice.

9Gift Shipments

When sending a box as a gift:

  • The recipient's address will be used as the shipping address
  • No pricing information or invoices will be included in the package
  • You can include a personalized gift message (up to 200 characters)
  • Gift subscriptions can be sent on a specific date or immediately
  • Shipping tracking will be sent to your email, not the recipient's

10International Shipping

For shipments outside Ireland:

Delivery Times

  • Northern Ireland: 3-5 business days
  • United Kingdom: 5-7 business days
  • Europe (EU): 7-10 business days
  • Rest of World: 10-21 business days

Customs & Import Duties

For shipments outside the EU:

  • You may be subject to import duties, taxes, and customs fees
  • These charges are the recipient's responsibility
  • We cannot predict these charges as they vary by country
  • We recommend checking with your local customs office

🐕 Dog Box International Note

Some countries have restrictions on importing pet food and treats. Please check your country's import regulations before subscribing to the Dog Box for international delivery.

11Address Changes

To update your shipping address:

  1. Log in to your account dashboard
  2. Go to Account Settings
  3. Update your shipping address
  4. Save your changes

📅 Deadline for Changes

Address changes must be made by the 1st of the month to apply to that month's shipment. Changes made after the 1st will apply to the following month's box.
